Meet the artist

Sanne (pronounced Sah-Nuh) is a 30-something artist from the Netherlands. Her art journey started in the late 90s and early 00s, when she was a young teen. Equipped with a mouse and using the free ‘Oekaki‘ art forums, she developed her illustration skills. Not long after, she received a Wacom Graphire drawing tablet as a gift, which helped unlock her full potential.

It didn’t take very long for her hobby to blossom into a true passion for the arts. Eventually she also learned to program, built websites, and applied her artistic skills and love for coding to pursue a degree in the field.

Now, more than two decades later, she discovered the joys of Virtual Reality painting in the VR app Vermillion.

The oil painting simulator she has fallen in love with combines the intuitive actions of putting a brush to a canvas with all the benefits of being digital art. A true lovechild of the mediums, perfect for a long-time digital artist.

Sanne can often be found streaming her creations on YouTube and shares her work on various social media. Currently she’s not available for commissions, but plans are underway to accept them in the future and sell prints and merchandise.

About her workspace setup

Her headset of choice is the Quest 2. While the Vermillion app has a native Quest version, the painting resolution on it is lower than on the PCVR version. Her preference lies with using the Rift version of the app to create higher quality paintings. Her PC specifications are as follows:

  • Ryzen 7 5800
  • Geforce RTX 3060 Ti
  • 32GB RAM
  • Windows 10 OS
